History On Trial: My Day in Court With David Irving
Deborah E Lipstadt
In 1993 Deborah Lipstadt, a professor of Jewish studies, published the first comprehensive history of the Holocaust denial movement, in which she called David Irving (a well-respected historian and writer on World War II) one of the most dangerous spokespersons of the denial movement. Irving then sued Lipstadt and her publisher, Penguin, for libel in a UK courtroom. Five years later, he lost his case, and he is now in prison in Austria for the crime there of Holocaust denial.
