Adam and Steve

by Craig Chester - £8.99  Alyson Publications (2005)
paperback    ISBN 13: 9781555839123 | ISBN 10: 1555839126

Adam and Steve met in New York in the 1980s, a time of big hair and bad drugs. Their first brief romantic encounter was a disaster - an overdose of baby laxative figured into the equation - so it's just as well that neither of them remembers much about it.

Now they meet again. They're a little older but no so much wiser, although considerably more careful with their hearts. With the help of their friends - formerly obese stand-up comic Rhonda and straight-guy slacker Michael - Adam and Steve struggle to make love work in the face of almost overwhelming obstacles, including a clingy terrier, accident-prone parents, homophobes from New Jersey and the outer boroughs, and the nagging feeling that they've met before.
