Someone Hurt Me

by Susan Cavaciuti - £7.99  Vital Health Publishing (2004)
paperback    ISBN 13: 9781890995201 | ISBN 10: 1890995207

Someone Hurt Me encourages abused children to work through their feelings and aids them in the healing process. Its vivid illustrations and empathetic text provide a graphic focus for their emotions and help them to articulate how they feel. With spirit strengthened, each child is assured that they are not alone there are people who can be trusted to help them.

Susan Cavaciuti wrote this book from her personal experience as a trauma survivor as well as from her professional experience as a consultant in Creative Arts for Health. Susan is whole-heartedly dedicated to the use of the Higher Arts to enhance the quality of life. Her illustrations have been published in several books, including My Whole Food ABC's , Stevia Sweet Recipes: Sugar-Free Naturally! and Taste Life! The Organic Choice.

Someone Hurt Me is designed as a communication link to an abused child. It offers a way to reach inside the child, helping them to express their troubled emotions. The illustrations guide the child through the darkness and pain (black and white pictures with a shadowy figure), through their questions and jumbled emotions (abstract dark and bright images), and into the light (colorful scenery and bright sun). The butterfly is a symbol of change through struggle, freedom from restraint, and beauty radiating from within.
